This two-hour course offers focused instruction on the necessary methods for calculating and verifying income, as well as for determining the value of assets and the income those assets generate.
The first part of the course features a detailed discussion of employment income, including military pay, pensions and Social Security, self-employment income, and child support. The second part centers on a thorough discussion of asset valuation and income, applicable to all federal housing programs, including the low-income housing tax credit, tax-exempt bonds, Section 8, Section 515, and HOME. Various types of assets are covered, highlighting what constitutes an asset and how they must be verified.
