NAHMA Grassroots Alert: Take 3 Minutes to Tell Your Senator to Join America’s Housing Providers in Supporting Renters

We are in the final stretch of negotiations on the next COVID-19 relief package.  Based on the latest intelligence, it is vital members of the Senate Majority (Senate Republicans) need to understand the need for rental assistance and the negative impacts of a protracted evictions moratorium.  NAHMA, in partnership with our housing industry colleagues, is running the advertisement below in popular print and digital media in the DC area. It is imperative we demonstrate outreach in the States of a few key Senators.

Please take a few minutes to complete the following:

1.     Share this ad with your Senator(s) in an email.

2.     Make the Subject Line in email to say this: Join America’s Housing Providers in Supporting Renters

3.     Locate your Senator’s relevant staffer email address on the shared list below and Copy the staffer’s email into the email you are forwarding. It is fine to send to multiple Senators in the same email, if you operate across multiple states.

Good afternoon, 

As outlined in our print ad that ran in POLITICO today (also linked here and embedded above), America’s housing providers strongly urge Congress to protect the housing stability of millions of Americans. We must:

  • Provide direct rental and housing assistance to those who need it.

  • Extend federal unemployment benefits.

  • Stop a protracted eviction moratorium, which fails to address a renter’s underlying financial distress and risks fundamental damage to the rental housing industry.

Our letter (linked here) outlines ways Congress can take meaningful action now, to keep families in their homes, save small businesses and pull the country back from an emerging housing crisis.
