Job Title: Resident Manager

Job Description: At Living Branches we believe that safe, affordable housing options makes a tangible difference in people’s lives. We are currently seeking a Resident Manager for Dock Village, a HUD affordable housing apartment complex for families and individuals of any age, located on our Dock Woods community in Lansdale, PA.

The Resident Manager is responsible for providing knowledge of community policies and procedures, to preform various duties to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and administration. The responsibilities of the Resident Manager include: promoting good community relations, residence marketing as needed, implementation of policies and procedures, meeting budgetary objectives, overseeing regulatory compliance, and ensuring high quality of life for Dock Village residents.

Resident Manager Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Contacts, interviews and evaluates prospective residents in a timely manner and manages resident waiting list to ensure expedited occupancy of vacated units.
Processes applicant paperwork according to government procedures and regulations.
Conducts residents’ annual re-certification
Provides background information for and attend informal hearings, and attends court hearings as necessary
Reviews and updates manuals and the tenant selection plan annually, or as needed.
Ensures compliance with HUD regulations.
Interacts and communicates regularly and clearly with related agency personnel, attorneys, government officials and Dock Woods management personnel.

Job Requirements: Experience working with federal subsidized housing and knowledge of HUD and PHFA rules and regulations and any Federal, State, or Country guidelines governing subsidized housing for families.
High School Diploma/GED – Required
Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred
Certified Occupancy Specialist – Preferred
Willingness to obtain certification within 12 months of employment – Required
Minimum 2-4 years of related work experience- Required, 5-8 years of related work experience – Preferred
Strong communication and managerial skills to provide guidance and direction, set standards, monitor performance of direct reports and to effectively interact with others.
Ability to encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
Ability to simultaneously handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize work and to address emergencies as they occur
Knowledge of computer operations and software used for reporting/accounting with Federal and State agencies.
